It gives me great pleasure and relief to report that as of Friday, December 21, 2012, I have completed the requirements of the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Yale School of Music. On Sunday, December 16, 2012, I conducted a recital program entirely of music by Bach — with the Magnificat in D as the featured work — set within Morrow’s traditional annual Candlelight Carols service. An orchestra of 22 and a choir of 34 brought this musical dream of mine to life. What a privilege to share that magnificent work with a packed sanctuary. This would not have been possible without the generous support of friends, family, and the congregation of Morrow Memorial United Methodist Church. The degree will be officially conferred at Yale’s 2013 commencement on May 20.
